We strive for a fair and effective compensation strategy. This implies several things:
We believe your compensation should be based on your experience, abilities, and the impact you have at Astrafy.
All employees should have the right to ask for Astrafy equity after being for one year in the company (see details below).
Salary package
Competitive salary package: by the end of the day, we all have personal projects and bills to pay. We make sure your salary matches your expertise and we do this through a fully transparent discussion with you.
Macbook Pro or Lenovo X1 Carbon: "Clothes don't make the man" - we agree with this quote but nevertheless we will give you the best material you require to do your job. As we don't make any concessions security-wise, you will also get a "YubiKey 5C NFC" with your laptop.
iPhone or Samsung: Smartphones have become an indispensable tool of work for consultants and we therefore provide you with the best-in-class smartphones. You will also get unlimited European phone subscriptions.
Noise-cancelling headphones: Time in meetings has increased significantly with remote work and having the right headphones is indispensable to spend this time smoothly.
Unlimited holidays: You take holidays whenever you feel the need to rest or disconnect from work. As founders, we have all gone through some kind of burnout and know the terrible effect those can have on your life. In order for this rule to not have any pervert effects, we put a minimum of 20 days mandatory.
Bonus: Your bonus is worth a month of your gross salary and is always given; no strings attached. You get your bonus in local currency or in one of the major cryptocurrencies in the market (this will depend on the regulations in place at the time we pay the bonus).
Unlimited certifications: We want you to grow and be recognized for it through official certifications. We put no limits on the number of certifications you want to take.
Access to top-notch tools: We have taken considerate amount of time selecting best-of-breed applications to carry out our daily work. Gaining expertise in those will reflect nicely on your resume. See details in the "our toolkit" section.
Equity through Stock Options (optional)
As part of your compensation, you will get the opportunity on your first yearly evaluation (ie on your "one-year" anniversary) to join the company equity through stock options. This will be via a standard 2-year cliff and a total vesting period of 4 years with a yearly vesting schedule. Broadly, the amount of options will depend on your role and experience.
In case you prefer to stay away from our equity, this is totally fine as well and we will then discuss an additional tailored bonus plan to compensate.
Relocating
If you plan to relocate permanently, your salary will be adjusted (up or down) to reflect the cost of living in your new location.
If this adjustment represents an increase in pay, we will need to approve the change in advance; we cannot always guarantee that our budget will allow the pay increase.
We care about our planet
We are all concerned about the ecological challenges our world is facing. At Astrafy we are on our own acting as much as we can with small acts such as recycling, relying mainly on public transportation and limiting our travels by working remotely as much as possible.
As a very concrete action we offer two trees to every new employee that join our team.
We stay away from lawyers
Your work contract will be plain and simple and will not include any non-competitive clauses. If you want to leave, it is your choice and we will accompany you on your new journey instead of trying to fight it with non-sense clauses. We are convinced our alumni will play a key role in our growth.
